The Process
Our maps are carefully made through lengthy machining times at low speeds on a robotic router. Take a look at six hours of carving into laminated Baltic Birch plywood on one of our Chugach Mountain Range maps in Alaska:
Once the maps come off the CNC, we sand them by hand, and then apply finishing sealants to protect and beautify the wood.
Each map will either become a wall-hanging, or a piece of functional art / furniture. We custom build the frames and support structures from sustainable reclaimed materials, such as urban-tree falls, or reclaimed chairlift and logging haul rope.
We work closely with each client to craft the exact map they want, whether it be a board room or dining room table, lake-mirror frame, or epoxy reason ocean map.
We install our maps in locations around Lake Tahoe, Truckee, and Reno, NV, or we can crate them and ship anywhere in the world.
